How to use Evernote on your Symbian device

by Mobile Jorge on September 5, 2009

Evernote is highly popular online note taking organizer which works extremely well to jot something down and just send it to Evernote so you can peruse it later. Its great for archiving text notes, voice notes, images, think of it brain dump depository.

Well after cruising Google for a possible Symbian app which there is none at the time of this writing, I bumped into this great video which resolved my situation. Just think about it, loads of Symbian users already use the best Twitter client of any platform Gravity(but any Twitter app would do) so coupled with this setup, Evernote and Symbian can work quite well together. So check out this video and you’ll be all setup in 5 minutes. Enjoy

  • You can use e-mail to send notes to your Evernote Personal e-mail address. I have created a simple WRT app for Evernote for 5th Edition devices that makes it fairly easy to do as well as give you quick access to your Evernote account.

The WRT is fairly limited in its API to allow much more functionality.

I could not follow the Evernote API too well, but it seemed that I would need to pub Java classes on the Symbian side and I only have access to JS, DOM, CSS, HTML using WRT. At least it is something...

Please let me know how it works on 3rd edition devices. My guess is that it will not work because I am using Platform Services 2.0 Beta. Nevertheless, add a comment to my blog post for the app.
