On this post, we’re going to talk about Nokia’s mostly unknown menu codes.

Most people don’t know about these codes because most of them are not even listed in your Nokia device’s Manual.

To use these codes, you have to go to your Nokia Symbian Device’s standby home screen and dial it in (as if you’d dial a normal number).

They come in very helpful at certain times, so here there are.

*#06#

This displays your International Mobile Equipment Identity (or IMEI for short) number of your device. Every device has a unique IMEI number and this can come in useful if you’re phone is stolen and you wish to block it, or if you’re phone’s IMEI is linked to a Nokia service such as N-gage and you wish to unlink it.

*#0000#

This display the firmware version and date of the firmware, of your device. If your firmware version is really old, you should check Nokia Software Updater (NSU) to see if there’s a newer firmware available for your device.

*#bta0# (that is *#2820#)

This displays the Bluetooth MAC address of your device. You must activate bluetooth before typing this code in. I’m not entirely sure when this code comes in useful though.

*#mac0wlan# (that is *#62209526)

This displays the WLAN MAC address (or WiFi Mac Address) of your device. This comes in handy if your WiFi service provider requires your MAC address and you wish to use your device with it.

*#res0# (that is *#7370#)

This code soft-formats the phone memory. All data on your phone memory will be erased. It will ask you for confirmation before going ahead with the process.

*#rst0# (that is *#7780#)

This code resets your device to factory settings. It will ask you for confirmation before going ahead with the process.

*#war0anty# (that is *#92702689#)

This displays the Life Timer of your device. The Life Timer tells you how long your device has been used, which can come in useful if you’re buying a new phone and want to check if its used or not.

Thats about it ! There are also some other codes which do not work on Nokia Symbian phones, so I’ve not included them in the list. If you find or know any new codes that I’ve missed out, do let me know in the comments section and I’ll add it here.
