I had to return my e71x because of battery--overheating, eventually "going dead"on me. I got a replacement, and an hour after using it, the same thing happened. Does anybody know whether this is true of the e71x v.s. the unlocked e71. I had and loved my e61 and never had issues withthe battery.
BTW, thanks for the tips, and understand where you were coming from. It is helpful when you have a little bar left, expect an important call and can't charge for hours. So everything other than going on offline mode would make sense. I've tried that, however and perhaps got a bit more juice that way, yet didn't "rescue" it.
One practical question: is there a way to press 1 button only to ensure that all the applications open in the background are closed, rather than having to go to them 1 by 1 to close? also, it is not very "smart" phone-like to use, for example, the phone book to make a call, and then remember that the application was open once the call is done. once it's dialing, the phone book becomes "hidden"....essentially it's like asking me to turn off the phone twice and with multiple steps.
Anybody???

The Post is about " SAVING POWER " for people that want the battery to last longer. If you are happy with less battery time then you have no reason to do any of the above.. Cant understand why anyone would have a problem with it.
If you must insist on commenting at least be sure you understand part of what you are commenting about.
I like to get Maximum time from my batteries when fishing, hiking or on long trips.

Thanks for the Info :-) 10/10

i'm with the other two - not a fan of this post.

on a side note, if you installed lots of apps to your microsd card then the mobile has to open files on that card. a legitimate and lesser known helper for saving the battery is to remove the microsd card. if you tend to have apps running on that card, they will be shut down (even hidden components to those apps, like background services).

there must be other hidden battery saving gems, but this is all i've got aside from the ghastly obvious.
