How to customize Gravity’s alert with a Tweet Sound

by Mobile Jorge on August 15, 2009

Here is a quick guide to enable the use of custom tones. In certain apps only the default selection of message tones is available. This sucks! But we can fix it.

First choose your favorite tone, (for gravity i use twitter.mp3 ). Next open your chosen file browser. I use x-plore. To enable the file to appear on the list of default tunes move it too c:/data/sounds/digital if the folders aren’t there just make them.

All you need to do now is restart your phone. The file will now appear on the list. Remember though that this will take up memory on c:. I have not tried a similar path on the memory card this may also work as the boot order is Z, C, E. Tested and working on n95 8gig.

You can download my twitter.mp3 from here . I created it with Audacity available at portableapps.com
So its kind off cool having your own custom tweet sound on your mobile phone, enjoy and happy tweeting

Post Source via NinjaLandPirate thanks for the great tweak

How you enable a sound in gravity, I cannot find the option to use sounds?
  • Thanks for the tip! I'm gonna try this tomorrow. I also find the sound "Chat Alert 1" to be a good file for tweets.

I love this tune on a Tweet to arrive in Gravity. Thx very much.
I didn't have to restart my E71 to see the tune back in the list of default tunes...
