How to hide images from the Nokia Gallery on your smartphone

by Mobile Jorge on August 14, 2009

To hide images from the gallery app, use X-plore to move the files in question to a different location then change the attributes of this new folder so the system box is ticked.
This will hide the pictures from your gallery app and prevent you from showing pictures to people that shouldn’t see them, if your still having problems try ticking hidden as well.

Your phone may need to be hacked depending on where you move the files too.  I’m not too sure.

Remember X-Plore is free, well, its actually shareware but its free to use with a 3 second delay which is not a long time to wait for an amazing application.

Let chime in right quick, yes if your phone is hacked you’ll have access via your file manager of choice to some hidden drives that are not accessible if the phone is unhacked.

Special thanks to NinjaLandPirate for submitting this excellent tweak

    Hello,

You should specify on which phones this works on, because on the n97 it does not work. Neither the system nor the hidden attribute will prevent photographs from showing up in the "downloads" section of the photo application.

As far as i know, there is no way to hide any images from the application, and it's incredibly annoying.
